Pan American Championships

Admittedly, this was a rather small field, but there were people there from all over. My hopes of winning gold were soon dashed, so I ended up in a battle for bronze with a rider from Brazil. We must have passed each other a dozen times. I was able to stay away on the last descent for the last spot on the podium.

The gold medalist was from Washington, so they played the Star Spangled Banner during the podium ceremony. It was the first time I've ever been on a podium where they played national anthems based on countries, which was really cool, and as close as I'll ever get to being in the Olympics.
